This set is ideal for 1971-76 GM CONVERTIBLES! REAR Seat Belt set – Consists of (1) retractor with male end, and one female buckle strap. PRODUCTION DATE: July 1977 (Used in the 1977-78 Cadillac model year). COLOR : RED (A medium-slightly dark wine red). CONDITION: Let’s admit it… Cadillac in the 1970’s was still on a roll, and their interiors were brilliantly planned. Exquisite colors dominated, and the vibrant RED seat belt set listed here is surely among the better colors of the era. This GENUINE 1970’S GENERAL MOTORS set was removed from a 50k miles 1978 Eldorado Biarritz many years ago. The belt strap material is exceptionally CLEAN and free of heavy stains. There is no color fade/loss like you would expect to see on Southern/Hot Climate cars. The coloring is nice and even and still has the Shimmer to it. The belt material is very soft and very flexible. There may be a random loose thread or two, usually where the white production label is stitched onto them common…. Clip them off if desired. The retractor works great, strong pull to the mechanism. The plastic retractor housing is not faded or cracked, and it looks highly presentable – just a few random nicks. Regarding the chrome pieces on the straps — Both of them (male, female) are in great condition – super shine, nice emblems, very clean. Minimal age characteristics overall, BUT the female latch does have a rust spot on the top rear left side – they only flaw in this whole set. The female buckle works fine/properly as well. So basically this set has EXCELLENT USE RED belt straps with a perfectly working retractor / female latch (that has 1 rust spot – which drops the grading value a bit). Overall I grade the set at a 8.75-9.00 on a 10 scale. Ideal for a restored classic. Very Good SURVIVOR Condition. Set your expectations reasonably for lightly USED parts that are 45-50 YEARS OLD. Generally speaking, the Cadillac belts that I sell will (likely) fit all large FULL SIZED GM cars made from 1971-76 (some models through 1978).
